Weather Discovery Center

The Mount Washington Observatory Weather Discovery Center is an interactive science museum that brings the wonder of the atmosphere right to your fingertips! Explore the science of climate and weather through fun, interactive exhibits like our air cannon, flow tank and wind room. Plus, meet and interact with the hardy observers living and working in our summit weather station through a twice daily live video link!

Made possible by a collaboration between the Mount Washington Observatory and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Forecast Systems Laboratory (NOAA-FSL), the mission of the Weather Discovery Center is to enhance awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the atmosphere, its complexity, its impact on the human experience, and the many ways in which atmospheric phenomena are observed and interpreted.

Hours of Operation
Open daily 10 AM to 5 PM.

Closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

Admission is free, and donations are welcome!
