Weather Discovery Center

The Mount Washington Observatory Weather Discovery Center is an interactive science museum that brings the wonder of the atmosphere right to your fingertips! Explore the science of climate and weather through fun, interactive exhibits like our air cannon, flow tank and wind room. Plus, through a twice daily live video link, visitors can meet and interact with the hardy observers living and working in the Observatory's summit weather station! Admission is free, and exhibits are appropriate for children and adults of all ages.

Made possible by a collaboration between the Mount Washington Observatory and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Forecast Systems Laboratory (NOAA-FSL), the mission of the Weather Discovery Center is to enhance awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the atmosphere, its complexity, its impact on the human experience, and the many ways in which atmospheric phenomena are observed and interpreted.
