Climbing Schools

Each of the climbing schools listed below offers climbing instruction throughout the White Mountains region and, in some cases, on Mount Washington itself. Mount Washington Observatory proudly partners with climbing schools to offer exclusive overnight mountaineering expeditions to the summit of Mount Washington. Climbing instruction is provided by the companies listed below, and overnight accommodations are provided by the Mount Washington Observatory at our legendary summit weather station—an exclusive opportunity not available anywhere else. Eastern Mountain Sports Climbing School

The Eastern Mountain Sports Climbing School is the oldest climbing school in the East, and has been offering technical rock climbing instruction since 1968. The Climbing School is accredited by the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA): one of less than 40 services in the US to hold that credential. Synnott Mountain Guides

Mark Synnott, owner and operator of Synnott Mountain Guides and a member of The North Face Climbing Team, has been leading climbing trips since 1996. An accomplished international climber, skier, mountaineer, and photographer, Mark offers private and group climbing instruction in rock climbing, ice climbing, mountain climbing, and backcountry skiing. International Mountain Climbing School

IMCS guides have accumulated many years of climbing, guiding and teaching experience. Located in North Conway, NH, we are a mix of American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) certified guides, world class climbers, dedicated teachers and backcountry masters. From indoor wall climbing programs for young children to international climbing expeditions in the great ranges of the world we have guides that can take you there..

Mooney Mountain Guides

Mooney Mountain Guides LLC is a year round Rock, Ice, and Mountain Climbing school & guide service. Based in New Hampshire and Vermont, MMG’s experienced staff of climbing guides and instructors specialize in private custom trips, personal instruction, family climbs, and group team building events. MMG offers guided rock and ice climbs, lessons, mountaineering courses, leadership training, alpine climbs, and Mt. Washington ascents. Redline Guiding

Founded in 2016, Redline Guiding LLC is the brainchild of avid hiker and guide, Mike Cherim.
