Balancing time between instrumentation, coding, and preparing my project for the annual American Meteorological Society, I have barely had any down time this week! I’m very excited to head to the American Meteorological Society’s annual convention this January representing the Observatory! If you’re heading to Phoenix for the AMS meeting this January, be sure to stop by and visit the Observatory’s representatives!
In my limited down time, I’ve had the chance to take a few time lapses this week. Take a look at our unique view from the summit – this time lapse was shot yesterday looking to the west towards Bretton Woods and beyond! While yesterday’s undercast wasn’t nearly as complete as other undercast events in the last week, it seemed to have more character than the others. You can see that there was a very stable layer of air present in the atmosphere below us, forcing the clouds to flatten dramatically. You can also see Bretton Woods’ snowmaking actually forming a small cloud of ice particles directly above the top of their resort! I’ve been accumulating quite a few time lapses, so be prepared for another compilation in the coming weeks! In the meantime, enjoy the clip!
