Peak Perspectives: Professional Learning in Weather & Climate Education (Summer)
Are you a formal or informal kindergarten-to-twelfth grade educator looking for hands-on, authentic ways to connect your students to weather and climate science learning that meets Next Generations Science Standards (NGSS)? Arctic Wednesdays: Professional Learning in Weather & Climate Education (Winter)
Mount Washington Observatory is excited to continue our popular Arctic Wednesdays professional development program this winter, introducing teachers and students to the arctic landscape of Mount Washington, often dubbed the “Home of the World’s Worst Weather.” On select Wednesdays between January and March, teachers can apply to join our weather observers on their snowy commute to the Mount Washington Observatory. Custom Programs
Rediscover your passion for science education through experiential training sessions at our place or yours. We will design a customized program, tailored to your group’s specific needs, with take-home lessons, activities, and experiments gleaned from our many years of scientific exploration on Mount Washington. Past programs have included such topics as, Weather Basics, Fundamentals of Climate, and Mountain Meteorology. Programs may be conducted at your school, at our weather station on Mount Washington, our administrative offices in North Conway, New Hampshire, or via interactive video conference. Fees are determined based on group size and training type. Please contact us to design your program.
