Sunset
Without trying to jinx it, we may not be the ‘bad weather shift’ after all. We have seen the sun every day since we got up here on Wednesday (I know that’s only three days, but that is a pretty big deal for us!) and were treated to a magnificent sunset last night. As we finished up dinner, bright orange colors were shining through the door in the tower, so we all quickly grabbed our cameras and hopped outside. This was my first time being able to witness the entire sun slowly disappear to a tiny sliver and then finally hide behind the horizon for good. The spectacle definitely provided for a fantastic photo shoot and made me realize I need to be picking up a new memory card or two for my camera next off week. After the low to our north passes by, we should be experiencing some more nice weather through the day and night again tomorrow. Hopefully this will provide some great riding conditions for all the cyclists competing in Newton’s Revenge (a bike race up the Auto Road) tomorrow morning.
On an unrelated note, Warren Miller’s new ski film which will come out sometime this fall will feature a segment on Chris Davenport skiing Tuckerman Ravine! Check out the Mount Washington Observatory’s Facebook page for the trailer.
