a view finder, for a different vantage point
I could write all kinds of contemplative thoughts about life, music, goals, and/or weather, but really, I’m just happy that tomorrow is Wednesday. It’s been a rather busy day, and unlike with most jobs, leaving at the end of the day just isn’t feasible. They say it’s the darkest before the dawn, and that the sun will come out tomorrow (whether or not you can see it is a completely different question) and that higher beings often work in mysterious ways. Ok, I think I’ve failed and have moved onto contemplative thoughts.
What I’m getting at, is that it’s a little bit funny, the way life works. Today, I was frustrated, angry, tired, and completely ready to be off the mountain. It happens on occasion; please don’t hold it against me. Sometime around sunset, I happened to glance out the window. All of my previous grievances immediately vanished as I sprinted to my camera and rushed outside.
Finally, a sunset! A real sunset! The refreshing breeze only worked to carry away any remaining bitterness of the day. The brilliant colors set the valley aflame, and burned into my mind (and retinas) a reaffirmation of why I love the mountain.
