Jordan the Sheepish Intern
As Mike pointed yesterday this was my last shift as an intern up here on the summit.
I cannot begin to describe to you the emotions that come with leaving the Obs. Nor will I try. I have had an incredible run up here for the last seven or so months. At times this job was exactly what I thought it was going to be like; at other times, there was no resemblance to my preconceived notions.
I am leaving the Observatory to return to Burlington, VT to work at an outdoor gear shop – The Outdoor Gear Exchange. Former intern and friend Jeff Wehrwein lives downtown and Mount Washington Observatory Observer/IT Specialist Mike Finnegan lives nearby and also works at the GearX, so my connection with the Obs will not be lost. As Mike said, these “coworkers” become more like friends and family than anything, so I am sure I will return to eat with them again.
To my shift – thank you for putting up with me.
