Time Keeps Ticking, into the Future

Cool Sunset.
‘It’s all about timing.’ You may have heard this phrase before whether it’s playing sports, learning how to cook, dancing, or various other activities. The same phrase was used yesterday as we watched the sun set and was in reference to the temperatures we were experiencing. As we stood there bundled in our red LL Bean jackets that we are known for, we discussed how 32F feels so cold this time of year especially when just days ago we had 50’s as a high, short sleeve weather for here. But in contrast, 32F in the middle of winter is the kind of weather that prompts us to go out in just turtle necks, not jackets. But then again, when we get streaks of single digit temperatures in the winter, anything above freezing is glorious. Although this below average cool down will be short lived, it is just serving to remind the summit crew that fall and inevitably winter are just around the corner so any summer projects that need to be done need to be viewed on their timing because timing is everything.
