Assembly of Dust will rock for the Obs on July 23
Hi, this is Membership & Events Coordinator Karen Hemeon with an update and a special request from the Observatory’s administrative offices.
With Seek the Peak 10 just two weeks away, every available staff member and volunteer is hard at work on this blockbuster event. As hopefully all you of you know, we are kicking off the 10th annual Seek the Peak hike-a-thon fundraiser with a huge concert featuring national recording artist Assembly of Dust and special guest The Brew on Friday, July 23 at nearby Cranmore Mountain Resort. The addition of this benefit concert will help make Seek the Peak 10 the largest event in the Observatory’s history (by several thousand people!), and is budgeted to bring in nearly as much as all the hiker pledges combined.
With so much riding on this event, we are reaching out to Observatory members, donors and fans everywhere to help us make it a success. If you can, please give us a hand by:
1) Spreading the word. Post a link to the concert on your Facebook page, your Twitter feed, your blog, and any online communities you frequent. Send out an email to friends and family, inviting them and encouraging them to invite others. Download the concert flyer, print a dozen copies and hang them in your town’s hotspots. Make a buzz however you can!
2) Signing up to volunteer. Help is especially needed with concert equipment set up and breakdown. Great freebies for those who help!
3) Buying a ticket. Or two, or three! It’s going to be an awesome show.
Thanks in advance for helping us make this event a success! See you all on July 23!
