There have been a lot of great happenings around here recently!
Last night we held a special event in the Extreme Mount Washington Museum for our Science Society and President’s Club members. Director of Research Dr. Eric Kelsey and President Brian Fowler gave very informative presentations, focusing on past, present, and future research at the Observatory. We enjoyed a great evening mingling with our supporters. Thank you to all of our members! We truly couldn’t do it without you.
Earlier this shift, Former Observer Bob Gerath paid us a visit. Bob worked on the summit in the late 1960s. We were excited to hear stories of the past and his first-hand accounts of working with Joe Dodge; what a nice surprise!
Construction on the bathroom in our living quarters continues thanks to Mount Washington State Park. We’re looking forward to seeing the finished product in the next couple of weeks.
Today’s beautiful weather brought lots of people to the summit. A large area of high pressure will dominate the Northeast through tomorrow, allowing clear skies and high visibility to continue, and we’re expecting another busy day!
