Since the weather never takes a day off, we don’t either here at the Mount Washington Observatory. That doesn’t mean that we don’t take time to celebrate the holiday though. As most of you did, today we woke up to find gifts from Santa Clause and generous members of the observatory under our Christmas tree. We also gathered together around our tree as a summit family and enjoyed watching our favorite holiday movies and opening our gifts. Like always the most interesting gift we got today was the weather. Today started with temperatures peaking at 44 degrees and by the end of the day were expecting temperatures to drop into the lower teens with winds ramping up to 100 mph.
While we have enjoyed our Christmas day here on the summit, we would like to wish a Merry Christmas to our families and friends back home, as well to our members and fans of the Mount Washington Observatory. Thank you so much for your support, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
