It is great to be back on the mountain of mountains! I haven’t been here for 5 yrs. and boy have things changed. You can actually flush the toilet every time you use it and you can take a shower everyday! (Enough of the stuff for giving you a reason to live.) We got to see the Atlantic Ocean one morning and actually saw 2 ships sailing on it. We also saw plenty of hikers on Saturday and the Cog made 4 runs that day. Then came the news that a storm was approaching and we saw several hikers running down the Autoroad. So much happens here when the really bad weather comes in for a visit. I did get up into the tower once though and the views were breathtaking (I also got my cell phone to work up there). We did cook ’til the cows came home.
I don’t usually have Trick or Treaters where I live but on Monday the first hiker got a candy bar from the State Park! (Happy Halloween!) Four more hikers came after him and they had to share the last 2 candy bars!!! You just don’t go to the local store and buy more candy up here. I wonder if this will start a new trend on Halloween? Better be prepared for next year.
We’ll be going down tomorrow and I have had another incredable experience on the my favorite mountain. Til next time. Keep that pantry well supplied and I’ll be back!
