Undercast and the Northern Presidential Mountains
I have experienced many new things this week! We hiked down to the Alpine Garden last Wednesday, which was quite the excursion. Even though the bugs were bothersome, seeing the flowers made the hike well worth it. Not only was visiting the Alpine Garden a new experience, we woke up Saturday morning to the summit being under a cap cloud. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine I would be under a cap cloud. Once late morning hit, the northern side of the cap cloud rushed into the Great Gulf, which looked like a waterfall!
This afternoon, we were presented with an undercast once the fog cleared for a few minutes. The Northern Presidential Mountains were still visible which allowed for a great photo opportunity. The view was unique and all those who were up on the observation deck took full advantage of this opportunity.
This shift has gone much quicker than my previous shift. Personally, I believe it is because I am use to all the responsibilities we have up on the summit. These responsibilities keep us busy constantly. From working down in the museum to entering B-16s, there is always something to do. This week has been another great week on the summit and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store!
