Unlike Garfield, I don’t mind Monday’s so much. Especially when you awake to 110 mile visibility – that really takes the edge off.
The weather this week has gone from warm and muggy to cold and snowy to warm and hazy to clear and brisk. The snow is almost completely gone from the Mount Washington Auto Road and we’ve seen the first Cogs to the summit.
With the snow almost completely gone from the Mount Washington Auto Road, I have been able to resume one of my favorite (and according to Steve, crazy) habits – running! I know I mentioned in past comments how the whole idea about running on the Auto Road came about, so I won’t bore you with the details. I will mention that peer pressure occasionally has a really important place in society. For example, when yours truly decides to invite young, impressionable interns to run on the road, and that intern is decidedly athletic. The result is yours truly feels inclined to keep up with the young whipper-snapper. That means getting in shape will be a much quicker (and more painful) process.
One of the best ways to deal with pain is to take in a magnificent sunset. So, bring on the pain!
