Final Week

2010-08-08 19:45:16.000 – Hanna Brewer,  Summit Intern

Ahhh my last week on the summit. It’s a bittersweet feeling… Part of me is excited to be able to go back to Florida to the sunshine, the ocean, and my friends. I’ve basically been living out of a suitcase for 3 months so it’ll be nice to be back in my apartment where everything is in its place and I don’t have to keep wearing wrinkly t-shirts. Then again, I’m going to miss everyone here and the mountain itself. I’ve learned so much this summer, probably more than I have in my entire school career so far. I am beyond thankful that I was given this opportunity when I know there were a fair number of candidates. I hope I made my school proud. I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t get to see any rime icing, but I suppose I am lucky that the weather was so mild and the views were beautiful for most of the summer. Maybe I’ll try to make a trip back this winter and learn to ski and see what winter is like on the summit. Or maybe I’ll just stay laying on the beach in warm, sunny Florida and convince the crew to visit me. Yeah, that sounds like a better idea.
