Summer Sun

Vistors making the most of the great weather

So far the weather on this shift has been exceptional – there’s been no precipitation and only fleeting moments of fog. It’s also been mild and the winds have been mostly light with several periods of calm conditions. The sky has been mainly blue and we’ve even seen the sun. If this keeps up we’ll have to change our logo to the ‘Home of the World’s Best Weather’.

This morning the air has been very dry, around 20% humidity, and the views have been amazing with a clear panorama of distant mountains and the Atlantic ocean glittering away to our east. We have also been able to make out several peaks in the Adirondacks including Ester, Morgan and Whiteface mountains all of which are around 130 miles distant and the farthest points visible from Mount Washington.

With the holiday weekend it’s also been very busy up here with many visitors making the most of the great weather. It’s hard to imagine that in a few short weeks the season will come to an end and we’ll return to winter.
