Thank you for supporting Mount Washington Observatory. Each year, thanks to you, we gather for our Annual Meeting. This year was no exception. And it was a year of growth.

The energy in the room at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center last Saturday, June 1, was palpable as we updated our friends and members about the incredible progress we made during the past year with new educational programs, research partnerships, investments in technology, and efforts to sustain the Observatory financially. All of you made this possible.

NEW WEBCAM

A new webcam with live-streaming views of the Northern Presidential Mountains is made possible by generous support from Gene Bank, Lakeside Security Systems, and Gordini Gloves.

The White Mountains are often obscured by fog. Our webcams operate best when visibility is good.

SCIENCE IN THE MOUNTAINS

Join us on Tuesday, June 18 at 7:00 PM for Science in the Mountains. Brian Campbell, NASA Senior Earth Science Specialist, will present Photons on a Mission: NASA’s Ice, Cloud, and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2). Weather Station Tours Are Now Available to the Public

Go behind the scenes of our famous mountaintop weather station and get a taste for what it’s like to work at 6,288 feet. Anyone can now purchase and schedule a summer 2024 tour. Membership is not required; booking at least 60 mins in advance is. Members do receive the benefit of free weather station tours.

MWOBS Store is Fully Stocked at Summit Visitor Center

The Sherman Adams Visitor Center on the summit of Mount Washington, along with full visitor services including gift shop, food service, water refilling station, and MWOBS’ Extreme Mount Washington summit museum, is now open.
