Dear *{{Informal Name}}*,
With the start of November, I wanted to let you know how thankful I am for you. You have had a significant impact on our work fostering better weather awareness and safety, leading groundbreaking research with our partners, and inspiring thousands of young students and families with our educational programs.
I celebrated my three-year anniversary at the Observatory in September. You have played a vital role in advancing our bold vision to become an international center for scientific research and learning. A few accomplishments that you have made possible in 2025 include:
- Expanding our forecasting so that we now provide statewide and recreationally focused weather reports over the airwaves across New Hampshire and Vermont, in partnership with organizations committed to helping wider audiences understand New England’s weather patterns. Your support quite literally has been translated into vital weather info that helps to keep millions safe.
- Creating the first-ever White Mountains Almanac, a new annual publication developed in collaboration with the Appalachian Mountain Club and Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study. Set to be released before Thanksgiving, this richly-illustrated 112-page almanac offers a year-in-review exploration of ecological and climatological changes in the region.
- Serving more than 6,000 students with school programs and having more than 1,000 join us on field trips to the summit of Mount Washington to learn about extreme weather, instrumentation, and climate. Our education team delivered hundreds of school day and afterschool programs as well as our second ever Storm Scouts Summer Day Camp.
You also make it possible for our observers to brave the summit’s fierce winds to collect weather data used by scientists around the world. And there is so much more yet to come. We look forward to sharing more about your impact in November and December during our Year-End Campaign.
As you gather with family and loved ones this holiday season, we hope you will consider renewing your support for our work. Please give as generously as you are able to help us sustain our legacy into its 94th year.
Thank you so very much for your support, help, time, and advice making all of these accomplishments possible this past year. Please call me anytime if we can ever be of help to you and your family.
Sincerely,
