It’s Great to be Back!
2015-06-06 21:56:23.000 – Kaitlyn O’Brien, Co-Director of Summit Operations
After taking a shift off for vacation, I found myself itching to get back up to the Rockpile! Aside from a lot less snow, there are some other notable changes that I encountered upon my return. The summit museum is now open daily and the gift shop is fully stocked! The Cog Railway and the Auto Road are both in full operation and we’re seeing lots of visitors up here. If you’re looking for a great way to experience all the summit has to offer, check out our Summer Day Trips!
In other news, today is National Trails Day! Hopefully you had a chance to get out and enjoy this great weather, which is expected to continue tomorrow. Speaking of hiking, we are just over a month away from Seek the Peak, the Observatory’s annual hike-a-thon event. This year, summit staff are not only hiking, but participating in fundraising efforts too. We have a friendly Shift vs. Shift competition going to see which shift can raise the most money. While The Watchers on the Wall have currently surpassed the Cirrus Contenders, we’re hoping to make a comeback! Check back soon for the launch of our promotional video. We appreciate your support!
