Hazy and perhaps record breaking heat…

The view from Bretton Woods…
Typically we get far more phone calls from telemark skiers than telemarketers on the summit. Yesterday though, I did receive an interesting phone call from a business solutions company (?). The phone call began with a simple question:
Are you looking to relocate your business or office in the next five years?
I was quite taken aback, and had to pause for a minute on this one, before asking the woman if she was prepared to move mountains to help us. Some polite banter ensued before she realized that this wasn’t going anywhere and … she hung up on me, just when I was starting to have fun! I mean, why not give Jefferson a try…
The weather today is dominated by the abominable haze monster surrounding the summits. To see how poor the air quality is today, simply check out the webcams! The hazy, hot and humid air creeping up the slopes again has the station positioned to break a daily record high temperature, after falling just short yesterday. Today’s record is only 59 degrees set in 1955 … I imagine we’ll make quick work of that this afternoon. The heat is also making quick work of the summit snowfields, so I may have to grab some turns after work today before the patch on the north view webcam disappears for another year…
